CETL: Exploring Intentional AI: A PLC for Faculty Members

CETL: Exploring Intentional AI: A PLC for Faculty Members In-Person

Join Lancie Affonso and Margaret Hagood for a five-part Fall professional learning community (PLC) designed specifically for faculty members new to and interested in generative AI! Each session will build on easily digestible microcredentials, allowing you to grasp essential concepts at your own pace before coming together for collaborative activities. During our one-hour in-person meetings, we’ll engage in hands-on experiences to apply concepts learned with a variety of AI tools and problem-solve the appropriateness for using AI (or not). This PLC is an opportunity to connect with peers, share insights and learn from others, and consider teaching practices in an age of ubiquitous AI access. Together, we'll explore promises and pitfalls of generative AI, connect to academic integrity, and deepen our understanding of intentional AI uses in higher education. Participants will create an opportunity to integrate intentional AI into a spring course and to present their work at CETL EdFest (May 12-13, 2026). Sessions will meet from 10:00-11:00 on Fridays: Sept. 19; Oct. 3; Oct. 17; Oct. 31; and Nov. 14. Participants will receive $500 in professional development funds upon completion of the program to be used for conferences, travel, or supplies! Sign up by Sept. 12. https://forms.office.com/r/hz78J2RaiV Space is limited to 15 faculty members!
