OASIS Symposium In-Person
Join the Organization of Africana Scholars in South Carolina (OASIS) for its third annual symposium at the Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture.
This year’s theme is “Africana Studies to the Future.”
The symposium, which is free and open to community members, scholars, educators, and students, will include four sessions:
Scholar Activist discussion w Dr. Ashley Dennis (CofC), Dr. Millicent E. Brown and Dr. Anthony Greene (CofC).
Strategy Roundtables: Working Lunch Session
Dr. Michael Landis (SC State) will facilitate a conversation with students who are Africana/African American Studies' majors and minors.
Educators’ discussion with Dr. Tiffany Harris (CofC), Mr. Jason Williams (Academic Magnet High School) and Dr. Tamara Butler (CofC).
OASIS is a collective of scholars from Black Studies, Africana Studies, and African American Studies departments and programs across South Carolina.
This collective includes faculty from:
